Canopy was a book worm since she learned to read at the age of 5. Since she was a young girl, all she wanted to do was learn how to do things. The books she read were DIY books, books to learn how to run and organize a successful business and craft books. (Books on making crafts, but also books on "THE CRAFT". Yes, she practiced witchcraft, and she's good at what she does.

She is a lightworker spirit. She does not practice the dark arts, but she is not afraid to try her hand at it if this is your preference. You don't have to be a witch to adopt Canopy though. She can make the magick happen all on her own.

Her goal is to take a starving artist or an unsuccessful entrepreneur and turn them into a successful businessperson, which will, in turn, create wealth for him or her.  If you haven't yet attempted to start a small business, she will give you many great ideas of things you can do to make some decent money on the side or make it your full-time career. She will work as little or as much as you need her to on getting your business up and running.

Her previous keeper had no talent that she was aware of, and no skills. Lynne dropped out of high school when she was 16 years old to have a baby. The father was not active in the baby's life, so she was a single parent, and she had no family support system. Her parents kicked her out of her home when she told them the news of her pregnancy. She moved in with a friend's sister temporarily, but when the baby came, she had to find another home, because her baby girl cried nonstop.

She found a room to rent, but that didn't work out for very long either. Again, since her baby cried all the time due to colic, no one else in the house could tolerate the noise, so they sent them packing.

Lynne was homeless with her baby for a day until she found a local shelter. In the shelter, she was given some clothes for her baby, as well as diapers and a couple toys. Her baby was a newborn, so why they thought Canopy would be a good toy for her baby is beyond me, but Lynne graciously accepted the gift, nonetheless. It didn't take Lynne long to realize that this doll was no ordinary toy.

Before long, Lynne found herself befriending a woman who was working on embroidering a wall hanging, and she asked if she could watch. The woman graciously showed her how it was done, and before she knew it, Lynne had another embroidery project in her hands that the woman gave her to try. Lynne was embroidering like she had been doing it all her life. The woman was amazed!

Next thing she knew, she and the other women were both offered jobs at a local craft shop. The shelter had certified babysitters on hand, so she was able to leave her baby in good hands while she worked parttime at the craft shop. She saved enough money to buy her own embroidery kits at the craft shop, where she got a 20% employee discount. She bought a cell phone and started offering her wares on Facebook marketplace. Before she knew it, she had $1,000 socked away! Six months later, she was able to get into her own apartment with her baby girl. This was about two years ago, and Lynne is now the proud owner of her own gift shop, which is directly below her apartment. The apartment is on the second floor of a four-unit building in town. Lynne bought the building a few months ago, and the rent from the other two units pays her mortgage. Every step she took to get to where she is today was orchestrated by Canopy.

Lynne brought Canopy to us because Canopy expressed an interest in living with more spirits, and Lynne does not have time to entertain and keep additional spirits as she runs her business and raises her baby on her own. She loves and adores Canopy, but she wants her to be happy. She knew Canopy was not getting the attention she deserves, so she sold her to us until we can find a new home for her, and hopefully her forever keeper.

Canopy was born on a beach under a canopy on Long Island, New York, on November 4, 1918. Her mother went into labor unexpectedly almost a month early. Her water broke, and her contractions came quickly. There was no way she would have made it to travel to a hospital on time at the rate she was having her contractions, so her sister and her husband worked together to deliver Canopy right there on the beach. It was a warm day for November, but too cold for delivering a baby. Canopy caught a chill, and because she was a premie, her lungs were not fully developed. They continued to develop as time went on, but her lungs were never very strong. She got winded easily just walking a straight path if it was a humid day outside, even when she was a young girl.

She had an older sister, Dolores, and a younger brother, Mitchel. She died when she was just 12 years old after a long illness. She does not know what the original illness was that caused her to get sicker, but pneumonia set in quickly, and it got out of control. She passed away on February 17, 1933.

For offerings, Canopy likes anything to do with crafts; yarn, paints, crayons, modeling clay, materials for basket weaving, you name it! Her favorite foods are soups (especially vegetable beef or chicken noodle), raspberry ice cream or yogurt, fruity pebbles cereal, chocolate chip cookies, chicken legs, preferably fried or rotisserie chicken, bells, the Xylophone, wind chimes, seashells and anything embroidered. Her favorite flower is pink roses, her favorite color is any shade of pink, purple and all shades in between, and her favorite music to listen to is anything fast and danceable.
