Captain is a beautiful pig spirit who is as sweet as can be! He is not only cute, but he has a great sense of humor. He loves cuddling, and he loves children, cats, dogs, and turtles. He likes all animals, but those are his favorites.

He was the only pig spirit we ever had that spoke to us in German from time to time. He wanted us to learn the language, for some odd reason. He would give us one word every couple of weeks, and he'd test us now and then. The really funny thing about this is that Captain was not born or raised in Germany! He was born in Louisiana! His birthday is June 14, 1941 and his DOD was July 20,1959. He died of natural causes/old age.

Captain was a pet pig. This was back during a time when pigs were not usually kept as pets, so he was very fortunate. He was the runt of a littler of 10 piglets when he was born. Penelope was the farmer's daughter who raised the pigs. She paid more attention to Captain when he was born than she should have, since they were raising the pigs for meat for themselves, and also to be sent for slaughter. She was always told not to get too attached to the animals they raised for slaughter, but Penelope couldn't help herself. She just loved Captain. She would sneak him into the house and take him up to her bedroom every moment she could once he was old enough and no longer in need of his mother's feeding and care. Penelope's mother discovered that Captain was sleeping in her bed with her one night, and she knew then that they now had a pet pig! Penelope usually got what she wanted since she was an only child, so Captain became their first and only pet pig. Otherwise, his life would have been much shorter.

For offerings, Captain likes lettuce, spinach leaves, corn, rice, watching cartoons, listening to joyful music, cuddling, and, of course, mud! We give him a fresh mud patty every week. We set it out for him for a couple hours a day, but then we wrap it up so it doesn't draw bugs.
